dude, I not only sympathize, I also empathize. I’ve been out of work since I got laid off last October. Yes, in ‘08. I’ve had a few short term jobs, but essentially on unemployment.
I’ve enjoyed not having to work, as it’s given me more free time to do my own projects & hobbies, but gov money won’t last forever. very frustrating. not my first time being unemployed, but definitely the longest. something always comes along just when i need it, so maybe i shouldn’t be worried. it doesn’t help when employers think all you can do is what’s on your resume and wont hire you so you can get more experience. I see jobs I’m qualified for but know i’d hate based on experience, so i tend to ignore them “Because you have been down there Neo, you know that road, you know exactly where it ends. And I know that’s not where you want to be.”
(note- i despise the interview process. most employers suck at it, which inevitably makes me look bad.)
I really hope you and me both find something decent soon.

as for you writing more, i say “Make it so”. that’s good.

I used Blurb a couple of years ago to create a hardcopy of 2 years of blog entries and photos on my eldest daughter, then gave them out as Christmas presents. For people without Internet (like my Grandmother), it was a fantastic gift. People with Internet also liked having the blog in book form. The site has software to “suck up” blog entries and photos, but I had to do a lot of manual layout and re-formatting. It took hours and hours to get it just right.

I was going to post a link to my book, but I cannot remember my password to blurb and I’m at work so no password book here. Maybe I’ll just e-mail it to you.

Actually, I think you were the one who indirectly convinced me to try WordPress. Trying on tons of different themes on a whim sounded like so much fun. As it turns out, it IS fun!

Here I am enjoying my first home made Electric Ice Tea (bought 4 of those small rinky dinky liquor store bottles after work for the task. Probably looked like a dork for doing so.) and being happy I wrote a script the other day which tells me when my home dynamic IP Address changes… Not sure where I’m going with this… Yes, I remember. This post of yours is so very refreshing!
